“Edited, this first part was what I wrote after my first appointment with Dr. Lichtman in January 2025:
I’m very glad to have found Dr Lichtman. He is very caring and understanding. I’m hopeful for the first time in a long time. Office staff and appointment process went smoothly as well.
Now, March 20, 2025 I have this update (Google won’t let me leave a separate review).
Dr. Lichtman himself still gets five stars. But I have to add in the following after undergoing 36-sessions of TMS therapy. Yes, it works, and I could write a whole lot about that, but this review is specifically about SPA and their staff.
My TMS tech was Mary. Another TMS tech, Saylor, would fill in for Mary when she wasn’t available or they would both be in there if Saylor didn’t have her own patient to help at the time. I can not say enough good about these two young women. They are spectacular both in their professionalism and their attitude toward patients. They truly do care about patients’ care and well-being. They were both there for me every step of the way, cheering my progress, supportive when I had a down day and responsive to whatever I needed to make my wellness journey progress smoothly and seamlessly.
They are absolutely an invaluable resource for SPA and its staff as well as amazing advocates for NeuroStar and TMS.
I can’t fail to mention the assistance of Marcy at SPA as well. Marcy handled all of the insurance particulars. Everyone knows what a PITA insurance companies are to deal with, and Marcy took care of all of it, making my life so much easier. I never once had to deal with the unending bureaucracy of the insurance system myself. Marcy is also amazingly personable and kind and is a joy to be around as well.
As a TMS patient, I didn’t interact much with the three receptionists at SPA, but on the few occasions I did, all three of them were very friendly and responsive. Didn’t want to leave them out either.
To the potential patient: don’t wait to deal with psychiatric issues. There is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. Your mental health is as much a part of your overall health as any other system in your body. You wouldn’t ignore a heart or lung issue, so why ignore a brain issue? Get the help you need and feel better. I promise it’s worth it. You can’t find better care than at Statesboro Psychiatric Associates.” – GM
