Janet Scott, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor
Janet Scott is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). Janet earned both a Masters of Education in Community Mental Health and in School Psychology. She began her counseling career as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in community mental health, and more recently, has worked for the past few years in private practice, seeing clients of all ages. It is her belief that building a therapeutic relationship with clients is a privilege and an honor. She finds that everyone has a beautiful story to share, and appreciates each client for having the courage to start the counseling process. Janet’s counseling strategies include engaging clients in experiential activities and traditional talk therapies. Foundations in empathy and unconditional positive regard for her clients allow her to meet each person where they are in life, while helping them set and reach goals for their future. Her passion as a mental health advocate, and desire to help break the stigma of mental health and addiction, has inspired her to work on related grants, and to present at conferences in Georgia and further afield. We are excited to have Janet at SPA, and know that her varied experience and unique perspective will add an important layer to the services we provide.
